Ginninderra swimmers at the Tuggeranong Meet

The Tuggeranong Vikings qualifying meet was a very successful meet for Ginninderra Swimmers. The GSC had 57 swimmers taking part over the two days of competition – making the GSC one of the biggest clubs at the meet!! We had many swimmers making Country and State qualifying times – some for the first time!

Ginninderra had many medallists at the meet. Nine of our swimmers achieved gold medals in their events – congratulations to Bec Cross (1), Sophie Dawe (1) Kyle Gillard (4), Kayla Hardy (6), Chelsea Kenneally (1), Nicholas Lawlis (2), Grace Pyke (1), Cameron Tysoe (3) and Anna Varela (1). Fantastic results at a highly competitive meet! – Congratulations to Kayla Hardy who won the senior female swimmer of the meet award.

The GSC also had 15 swimmers achieving 100% PB’s – a testament to the dedication and hard hours put in at training. Congratulations to Ally, Maia, Anna G, Natalie G, Kayla, Lara, Sophia, Alec, Fiona, Ruby, Luke, Olivia R, Theo, Lukah and Anna V!

In a very emotional event, some of our senior girls participated in the 200m Breaststroke in memory of Jade Firth. Jade was a 15 year old swimmer from the Novocastrian Swim club who passed away last month in a tragic accident. Jade was well known and loved by our senior girls. The GSC is proud of our senior girl’s involvement in this special event and would like to join them in showing our support for Jade’s family and club teammates.
