Qualifying meets are the next level of Swimming Meet after the Development meets.
Qualifying meets often have set times that need to be met in order to swim- qualifying times. You must have a time faster than or equal to the qualifying time (set at a development meet or Club night) to be eligible to swim.
Officials at qualifying meets will disqualify swimmers for incorrect starts, strokes, turn and finishes.
In the ACT, qualifying meets are exciting as they are often attended by swimmers from visiting clubs from NSW and Victoria.
From qualifying meets, swimmers can qualify for NSW Country and State meets.
Ginninderra organise and run one qualifying meet each year in June. This is a major undertaking for the club and our major fundraising activity. The support of ALL Ginninderra members is required to deliver a meet of our high standard to the swimmers.
